Sergey ‘Krusher’ Kovalev is back in action this weekend against Vyacheslav Shabranskyy fighting for the WBO and IBO titles.
Kovalev is a world class fighter but lost his past two fights to the great Andre Ward. Ward retired in September as the unified light heavyweight world chmapion. Kovalev was beaten firstly by Unanimous Decision and then beaten in the rematch by TKO. Kovalev was undefeated before he fought Ward and was a world champion for 3 years.
Krusher Kovalev returns this weekend to fight Vyacheslav Shabranskyy for the WBO and IBO world titles. I can see Kovalev coming back to his form before he fought Ward. I see Kovalev winning this fight because he still is a world class boxer. After this fight I hope we get to see him progress on and face other world champions for the other titles in the division. Kovalev is a sturdy unit and I don’t see the less experienced opponent in Shabranskyy, who hasn’t had a world title shot to date, beating Kovalev who has had many world title fights. I predict that Kovalev will be Shabranskyy by knockout (KO).
